Upon entering high school, I took the initiative to propose the establishment of a new department dedicated to power wheelchair sports. I presented this idea to my gym Teacher, and together, we crafted a proposal that was subsequently submitted to the Board of Education. Being an integral part of this process filled me with satisfaction as we worked towards the adoption of this groundbreaking department within the school. Collaborating with the school, I was proud to contribute to creating a space that catered to individuals with disabilities, offering them a platform to experience the purpose and joy that come with both victory and defeat. Establishing the league and scheduling tournaments towards the end of the school year marked the realization of this vision. It brings me immense pride to note that the department not only came into existence because of my unwavering passion but continues to thrive to this day. My contributions to the workplace are to see beyond my disabilities and a diverse set of skills, knowledge, and abilities. As an individual with a physical disability, specifically quadrilateral cerebral palsy, I navigate daily life with unique challenges. Despite this, I have collaborated with professional coaches to establish a successful fitness program tailored to my needs and the needs of others.
